RE: Chipmunks

I haven't had any trouble with chipmonks, but I've heard that the best way to catch a squirrel is to climb up a tree and act like a nut! Oh well, as always, oRV

RE: Opinions on Gulfstream Tourmaster

My friend Tim, the owner of Master Tech in Elkhart, IN does warranty work for Gulfstream. . . he says that they are his favorite company. . . they send him so much business. He doesn't like others, such as Newmar and Monaco. . . they don't send him enough warranty repair work. oRV

RE: price on old motorhome

We purchased a 1984 Shasta on a Ford F53 chassis and a 7.5L 460cid engine new for $39,900 MSRP. Unfortunately, in those days I didn't know enough to bargan. . . paid retail. By the way, I'm still driving this well-loved MH with 191,000 miles on it. We hope to finally park it when we go full-timing next Spring and purchase an Allegro Bus 43 QRP. Won't pay MSRP this time. RE: Extended Warranties or Service Contracts

I have been following this thread with a great deal of interest as an an instructor for Life on Wheels (www.rvlifeonwheels.com). One of the subjects I teach is Continuing Servcice Plans: Are They Right for You. The purpose of the class is not to preach pro or con about "extended warranties", but to help RVers become aware of their options. There are many, many misconceptions about these products, and I have found that a majority of complaints revolve around the purchaser having failed to make themselves aware of all the terms of their contract. The people responding to this thread appear pleased with their purchase because they have followed these terms TO THE LETTER. I would most strongly encourage potential continuing service plan purchasers to become aware of what kinds of products are available and what the terms are. It is also important to ascertain the reputation and history of the product being considered. What recourse is available to you in case of dispute? Are these products regulated in your state? What kind of product are you interested in: an inclusionary policy or an exclusionary product? There is much to become aware of in order to become a truely satisfied customer. Should you be considering one of these policies please make yourself aware of all of its terms and restrictions. RVing is meant to be enjoyable and relaxing. . . being aware and prepared will help make you a happy RVer as. I hope these few words have been helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Oh. . . for a more complete story of extended warranty plans, as well as lots of other information, plan to attend the Life on Wheels conference in Pennsylvania or the Gypsy Journal Rally editor@gypsyjournal.net in Ohio this September. RE: Country Coach Veranda!!

Ahhhh. . . I can see myself now, His Royal Magesty waving his golden scepter above his loyal subjects. Yes indeed. Oh well, being one of the serfs, I don't have to worry about having a Country Coach with a veranda. Wouldn't have one if I could afford it. I was able to walk through one at the Escapade in Guilette at the end of June and found myself relatively unimpressed once I got the glare of the jewels out of my eyes. I still prefer the glow of the campfire as we roast somores with the grandkids. Just my never to be humble opinion. . . oRV

RE: Escapees RV Club

VERN:I'd emplore you to perhaps spend a bit more time at Rainbow's end. . . then I hope you'd be able to change your view that its and "elephant boneyard". My wife and I have been active SKPs since 2001 and don't feel that we're quite ready for the grave at age 60. By the way, our Escapades always offer great activities for the younger set, as well as the proverbial "young at heart". Rainbow's end may appear to cater to the senior Escapees, but I think you'll also find children riding their bikes around the campground on a daily basis as well as families doing "family" things. RE: Escapees RV Club

Friends, I must step up here and post as a strong advocate of the Escapees RV Club. I feel so strongly about this that I frequently espouse that I am not merely a member of a club, but that an Escapee is what I am. Being an Escapee (often abreviated "SKP") is truely a life-style. There are many opportunities for "service" (the "S" in SKP): I recently spent five weeks volunteering at the CARE Center in Livingston, TX. Here I was able to give some assistance to others in need as I received the blessing of being able to spend quality time getting to know and gain some wisdom from some wonderful people. There are also annual "Escapades" (this June to be held in Guilette, WY) where we experience a week of fellowship, gain mind-blowing amounts of knowlege (the "K" in SKP) attending seminars, eat great food (did I mention eat?), visit any of the many, many vendors, make and re-visit new and old friends, enjoy quality entertainment, and in general, enjoy the very best of the RV rallies available anywhere. The Escapees also sponser a convenient and economical number of RV parks (finally, the "P" in SKP). There are also lots of discounts for parks desiring to draw Escapees into their parks. These discounts range from 15% to 50%. Any group is only as good as the sum of its membership and managment. SKPs excell here as well. I hope that now you can see why my wife and I exclaim that we don't merely belong to this "club", but we are indeed "Escapees". . . come, experience the life-style. Come and get a hug if you're comfortable with one. If not we'll shake your hand or just give ya a big 'ole smile if that where your comfort level is. Come. . . join the family. As always, oRV

RE: yosemite np. where to stay

There are two parks in Coarsgold, CA just outside Yosemite Natl Park. We have stayed at the Escapee park there and have always been sorry to have to leave. oRV

RE: Pressure Pro Sensor Battery

I just purchased my Pressure Pro System from Pat McFall in Texas this week. . . I haven't even had time to install it yet. My question is. . . how reliable are the systems, and how reliable is their warranty service? I'm looking forward to testing the system out next weekend going down to Tennessee. oRV

RE: Washing motorhome at truck stop

This past Spring I used the Blue Beacon on I-40 at Kingman, AZ. They did a reasonable job, charged $40 and, of course, did not dry. The desert winds were blowing, as usual so my MH was soon covered with more dirt than I took it into the wash with. oRV
